Memories from the archives 7 "THE CONCORDE METHOD"

I wrote about measuring finger strenght, July 17th 2008:
Very simple way to check how much is your maximum gripping ability. I call it the Concorde method. Just take a normal scale, put your arms straight and squeeze!

I bought my scale from secondhand shop with couple of euros. It's also environmentally good choice to recycle:) Hence the name, Concorde.
Some tips for measuring:
- Maximum grip (free style, see the picture)
- Pinch, using only finger tips (harder)
- Endurance by pressing as long as possible for example 20kilos, 45kilos or even 60kilos
- Grip/Weight -ratio (divide the maximum grip kilos by your own weight, the higher ratio the better)
- One hand squeeze (are the hands equally strong?)
Remember to warm up little before trying to brake records with guys;) and make it with straight arms, so that elbows don't touch knees, if you are sitting while testing, no cheating! I think that maximum grip is the number on the scale that you can maintain at least one or two seconds, so that the figure doesn't change for a moment. Test your maximum performance time to time, write down or memorize the figures to see how much you made progress weekly/monthly/annually, great! Have fun!
